Implicit Association Tests IMPLICIT ASSOCIATION TESTS

The Implicit Association Test ("IAT") was created by researchers at the University of Washington and Yale University. By asking you to respond to a series of faces and words, the test is able to measure subconscious thoughts, hidden feelings and automatic associations for different groups. These unconscious attitudes could be affecting how you interact with people of a different race, group or skin color. The race, asian american and skin color bias IATs each take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The group and identity study will take about 20 minutes to complete.

The results for any IAT that you complete will be known only by you. Even if you do not believe that you are harboring any prejudices, we encourage you to take at least one test. The results may surprise you. Of course, you should feel free to share your experiences with us. Your feedback is most welcome.

Note: To take the IATs, your browser must support Java Applets technology. WebTV may not currently support this feature. If you would like to learn more about the science behind the tests, visit the IAT Corporation.
